Dr. Wai, Sing Fai obtained his PhD training as a biochemist at the University of Hong Kong. He has been working in the biotech field for more than 20 years. He is the founder of Pure Innovation Biotech and Pure Asia Biotech, two start-up companies at Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, which main businesses are consultation of GMP manufacturing of biologics and production of food-grade purified active ingredients from natural products, respectively. He had been the General Manager of Greenpak Biotech for ten years since 2004. He led a team to obtain Australian GMP compliance for the DNA manufacturing facility in HKIB. He was one of the members who obtained the licensure of a class-one new H5 DNA vaccine for poultry use in China. He had developed a proprietary non-chromatographic industrial-scale plasmid DNA production platform, which can reduce the cost and increase the quality of plasmid DNA in large-scale DNA vaccine manufacture. He has extensive experiences in bio-manufacturing under GMP conditions, optimization of production processes of biological products, and veterinary drug license application.
